On October 10, 2019, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Ashgabat to attend the meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Esenmyrat Orazgeldiyev met the President of Uzbekistan.

The main events of the CIS summit will be held on October 11. The President will also hold bilateral meetings with the heads of several states.

Upon arrival in the city of Ashgabat, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The President of Uzbekistan sincerely congratulated the leader of Turkmenistan on the effective chairmanship in the Commonwealth of Independent States and wished successful conduction of the organization’s summit.

Prospects for further expanding multifaceted cooperation and strengthening the strategic partnership of the two countries in the light of implementation of the agreements at the highest level were discussed at the meeting.

Views were also exchanged on the current issues of international politics and regional cooperation.

On October 10, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon, in Ashgabat.

The importance of establishing long-term business ties and developing practical cooperation between the two countries was emphasized at the meeting.

An agreement was reached on enhancing mutual exchanges, as well as on joint development of promising projects in various industries.

Issues of expanding cooperation within the framework of international and regional organizations were also discussed.
