Meeting in Vatican
On December 11, 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with Vatican Secretary for Relations with States within the Holy See's Secretariat of State, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, in Rome.
Heads of foreign affairs agencies discussed a range of issues of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Vatican.
The parties noted with satisfaction the dynamic nature of bilateral relations that began in October 1992. As it was emphasized, interethnic harmony and religious tolerance prevailing in Uzbekistan, the jointly accumulated experience of interaction is a key starting point for bringing interstate relations to a qualitatively new level.
It was noted that the dialogue between the heads of state and regular contacts at other levels will contribute to determining and focusing on promising areas for further development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Vatican.
Other issues on bilateral and international agenda were also considered at the meeting.
